Rhonda Ryder has a great course on parenting for today.
It encourages parents to get the best from children by increasing their self-esteem and giving them tools to help them feel in control of their lives. The ideas and suggestions can benefit everyone. Grandparents can use this information too (and Aunties, Uncles, etc).
Julie Swatek, president of one of the largest online scrapbooking
companies and one of the 10 parents was interviewed for the Parenting:
Law of Attraction Style program …
…and explains how she has been experimenting with “resisting vs.
allowing” in her parenting.
She says when she gives orders to her young children, they often
will “resist” and rebel.
On the flip side, when she rewords her request so that she is
“allowing” them to behave…things go much, MUCH smoother.
Here’s an example from Julie:
“We eat out in restaurants all the time, so I’ve been trying this
with my kids. Instead of saying ‘Sit down, shhh’, and all of that,
I looked at my son and I said, ‘You know, I really like it when you
can sit quietly and act like a big boy at the table. Do you think
you would be able to do that?’ ‘Yeah!’ he said, because I was
allowing him to do something instead of forcing him to obey me by
saying, ‘Sit down, be quiet, don’t bang on the table with your
fork’.
We go into this topic, and many others regarding children of all
ages in great depth in this program.
