My daughter and I were looking through an old photo album of mine. We found a couple of pictures from when I was carrying her.
We found some of her as a newborn too.
The saddest theing was there were none of my two sons.
We had bought a digital camera and taken thousands of pictures of the boys and my girl as they were growing up. It was free. Take the pictures, download them to the computer, take more pictures.
We didn’t back up those pictures. The computer was so reliable and had a huge memory. We didn’t realise that eventually all computers are destined to become outdated and go to computer heaven.
We lost many years of precious memories when the computer died.
This is a warning to everyone. Make sure you copy your pictures to CD or some other form of storage. Make a few copies. Don’t rely on one source to keep your memories safe.
A great idea is to make a copy for each member of the family and give them as a gift. It will be treasured for many years to come.
