My daughter and I were watching Neighbours on the television. The characters Declan and Bridgette had bought their new baby home from hospital and the baby was crying. They didn’t want to ask for help in case their parents thought they were bad parents. The parents in the next room didn’t want to interfere in case the new parents took offence.
My daughter and I had to laugh because we had just gone through the same thing. I didn’t want to appear interfering and she didn’t want to impose.
We discussed the issue and to both of our delight we came to an arrangement where we are both happy and the baby gets the best care.
If you are going through a similar situation, please talk it over. It could work out better than you thought possible, for everyone.
